The kid is back in school, and one of the ways that I am celebrating ‘me time’ is by practicing bass & guitar in my underwear in front of our window AC unit. I don’t know if it qualifies as ‘brat summer’ material, but it’s sure treating me just fine.
Meanwhile, several projects that I’ve quietly worked on in my hermit-hole have just had some pants-on public moments, so I’d like to celebrate with y’all — especially since you can finally see a couple of them!
Dick Bunny wins ‘Best Web Series’ at Holly Shorts
Holy hairballs! Forest Creatures, Rejoice! This beautiful and funny series about a new mom that befriends an imaginary storybook character was created by writer Susie Mendoza, actress/comedian Kim Griffin, and director Katie Locke O’Brien.
I had the privilege of writing the musical finale (Episode 6) and even appear as a guitar-playing skunk!
For a limited time, you can stream the series here and feel all the feels:

Lucky Goes to Hollywood!
I was over the moon to collaborate with composer Matt Friedman and filmmaker Kestrin Pantera on original songs for her new movie — that was recently announced on Deadline!
Not only did I get to create some music (and dance in a flashmob fantasia sequence!) for this piece, my terrier mutt Lucky got to do his first acting job as ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic’s beloved dog! Look at these cuties:

Between takes, I got to let Weird Al know that he’s pretty much the reason I started writing songs (during lunchtime at school, with my friend Endymion Quinn, we composed such hits as ‘I Believe the Children are Bulimic’ to the tune of ‘I Believe that Children are our Future’ — HIGH ART!) and he loved my band’s name.
Evangenitals - Now Weird Al Approved!
If you aren’t familiar with her films yet, Kestrin Pantera is an all-around spectacular human, connector, creator, and community builder. Jump into her filmography on IMDB.
(Another Evangenitals easter egg — our song ‘F*ck ‘em All’ appears in the credits sequence of her film Mother’s Little Helpers.
Off the F***ing Laurels, Baby!
My stop motion music video for Off The F***ing Rails is a semi-finalist in the New York Animation Film Awards!
Won’t know for a while if I make it to the finals/screening in New York (in November), I’ll keep you posted! For now you can enjoy this awards-nominated, laurel-wearing masterpiece right here:
Back to the bass clef, y’all! Pants OFF!
